چکیده

This work studies the influence of several compositional effects on thermal and reactive processes. First, impact using a fully model in context simulations is considered. Detailed phase behavior models rely descriptions oil up to tens components. Lumping large number components into smaller pseudo-components order reduce computational cost standard practice for simulations. schemes are typically calibrated experimental data, achieve good approximation initial oil. Due evaporation condensation under stimulation, composition will widely vary time space. works illustrates that even if lumped were able capture oil, lack resolution can lead modeling artefacts and/or fail relevant displacement Then, different interpretations pseudo-species appearing typical reaction investigated. A constant, mass-based fraction allowed react, modified. molecular weight effects, rate larger when light medium react. Those result an increased displacement, leading faster fronts, banks more pressurization system.

Fully compositional and thermal reservoir simulation

Fully compositional and thermal reservoir simulation capabilities are important in oil exploration and production. There are significant resources in existing wells and in heavy oil, oil sands, and deep-water reservoirs. This article has two main goals: (1) to clearly identify chemical engineering sub-problems within reservoir simulation that the PSE community can potentially make contributions...

Tie-line Based Parameterization for Thermal Compositional Reservoir Simulation

Thermodynamic equilibrium computations are usually the most time consuming component in compositional reservoir flow simulation. A Compositional Space Adaptive Tabulation (CSAT) approach has been developed in order to speed up the Equation of State (EoS) computations. The methodology adaptively parameterizes the compositional space using a small number of tie-lines, which are assembled into a t...

Thermal and compositional evolution of the core

Synopsis This chapter examines the thermal and compositional evolution of the Earth’s core, from shortly after its formation to the present day. The initial state and composition of the core were determined mainly by the manner in which the Earth accreted. The initial core temperature was high enough to produce lower-mantle melting and may have dissolved substantial quantities of elements (such...

Compositional Modeling of Fair Reactive Systems ?

We argue that the standard constraints on liveness conditions in nonblocking trace models|machine closure for closed systems, and receptiveness for open systems|are unnecessarily weak and complex , and that liveness should, instead, be speciied by augmenting transition systems with acceptance conditions that satisfy a locality constraint. First, locality implies machine closure and receptivenes...
